Thru
Holes/Vias
If no choice try to off set via from contact point. Unless specified otherwise
all through holes are plated through.
The
smallest plated through hole with clearance is:
- for up to .062: thick rigid PCB is .010" / .25 mm
- for Flex PCB is .006" / .152 mm
Standard finished hole diameter tolerance is +/- .003 inches / .076
mm. Please note that if the hole is in or near the border of a P.I.
feature, no guarantee can be made regarding the diameter of the finished
hole: particles will plate inside the hole and partially or fully obstruct
the hole. If no choice try to off set via from the feature.
Standard hole true center tolerance +/- .0005" on rigid material,
+/-.001" on flex material, measured from another feature, not an edge.
Note: Exatron is not responsible for Gerber file or
FAB drawing errors that cause a plated through hole to be unattached
to the top/bottom
feature on the PCB. Example: The artwork has a .050" dia. hole but
the drill size is called out for .031". The result is a plated through
dough nut.
We can manufacture test boards with custom routed
plated through holes/slots. These can also be "blind" pockets. If required be sure artwork over hangs
all routed edges by at least .010"/0.25mm. |
