The
Exatron SIMM handlers have been designed to run a wide
variety of SIMM/DIMM modules in various pin counts and
various IC populations. SIMM handlers are available with
a label application option (3000BL base only) and with
bulk or tray output options.
Exatron SIMM/DIMM handlers come with
a "magazine" input
that is hand loaded with modules. The magazine holds
(nominally) 102 devices. The real capacity of the magazine
depends on the length of the modules themselves. The
tracks are 25.5 inches in length and there are seventeen
tracks in a magazine. The magazine is easily adjustable
in height to accommodate different modules.
Modules are singulated at the output of the magazine
and then slide into the test site. Exatron offers metal
pin-based or Particle Interconnect-based (High Speed)
contactors in different pin counts and pitches for different
modules.
If the system includes a label applicator, the modules
then slide into the label site. The modules are tipped
over and then held against a hard stop to keep the modules
square in the label site.
Following
the test (and labelling, if applicable), the device is
sorted on a pass/fail basis only. The 3000B SIMM is offered
with bulk output or with shipping tray output options.
If bulk output is chosen, then the parts are dropped
into bins of pass or fail devices. The 5000 base system
is available with a dual tray loading option -- operators
can mount a fresh tray while the machine is filling the
other.
Following the test (and labelling, if applicable),
the device is sorted on a pass/fail basis only. The 3000B
SIMM is offered with bulk output or with shipping tray
output options. If bulk output is chosen, then the parts
are dropped into bins of pass or fail devices.
If the tray output option is installed, then the pass
modules will exit into an output arm held over the slots
of a pre-formed tray. The tray itself is loaded onto
a motorized platform which moves across the system under
the output arm. When empty slots are under the arm, the
arm opens to allow the modules to fall into the output
tray.
In any case, the 3000B SIMM/DIMM handler is controlled
by a standard Exatron controller with standard diagnostic
routines and control programming. |
