The
8000-3/V Handler has been designed as the ultimate
machine for IC handling needs. The 8000-3/V is capable
of handling components stored in multiple medias to
and from programming/test sites. Media options for
input and output include standard and non-standard
JEDEC trays, taped devices, bowl feed/bucket and plastic/metal
tubes. The 8000-3/V system can be configured with multiple
programming/test sites, laser mark capabilities, differential
temperature testing, and 3D vision inspection. The
8000-3/V is a versatile handler, capable of producing "finished" components. |
Operation
| The 8000-3/V
is designed with three to five JEDEC tray stackers
(up to 20 trays). The machine has up to eight Pick-&-Place
heads to allow for quick and precise component handling.
The handler is designed to directly dock to the test
heads for easy removal of the DUT board with no need
to reposition the system. The 8000-3/V has an easy-to-use
Windows based control software. An operator can be
trained to use the machine in less than four hours.
The 8000-3/V system is capable of handling up to 5000
units per hour, depending on the number of options.

The 8000-3/V can be configured as a hot/cold temperature tester.
Using liquid heating and cooling systems from
Julabo and a movable hot and cold test head carriage,
the system can test both hot and cold with a single placement
of the component. By placing the device in the test socket
only, the potential of damaging the leads is prevented
as a result of unnecessary handling. The 8000-3/V differential
temperature system can range from -55°C to +155°C
with an accuracy of +/- 1°C. Embedded thermocouples
within the test heads measure the component temperature
and perform testing when the specified temperature has
been reached. Typical soak times are under four seconds.

Inspection can be integrated using many brands of vision
systems.
True 3D Coplanarity Inspection is available for:
- SOIC/TSOP
- PLCC/LCC/MCM
- PQFP/TPQFP
- BGA/uBGA
- CSP
- Custom devices

The system can be configured with a Trumpf Laser
Marker. The marking can be completed in tray and
no tooling is required.
Laser Specifications:
- "Red" Wavelength 1064 nm or "Green" Wavelength 532
nm
- Power 0 to 1.5 Watts
- Pulse Repetition 2 - 20 KHz
The 8000-3/V can be equipped with an X-Y-Theta Precisor
Station. Working in conjunction with an inspection module,
the Precisor Station guarantees accurate component handling.
Output is to either a JEDEC Tray Stacker or a Model
1080 Automatic Taper for 8 to 72 mm tapes, PSA or
Thermal Seal. De-taping input can also be added upon
request. .
The system can also be configured with Input and Output
Tube Feeders.
