- Automated: Model 1020 Tube to Tape |
 |
|
|
|
 |
The Model 1020 is designed
to automate the process of moving devices from plastic
shipping tubes into carrier tape for automated stuffing
machines. Currently, this process is usually done with
a human operator simply dropping devices out of tubes
into the tape. This is inefficient and can cause damage
to devices with small, delicate leads. The Model 1020
allows the operator to attend to other duties while the
machine fills the tape. One operator can control several
of these units at once, increasing efficiency and lowering
costs. |
 |
| The Model 1020
can also incorporate various optional equipment to
increase the functionality of the machine, such as laser
markers,
labellers, vision equipment, etc. |
 |
|
|
Operation
The
Model 1020 incorporates a traditional Exatron "octoloader" which
can hold up to eight tubes of parts. These tubes are
then unloaded and the parts singulated. These parts are
then placed into the pockets of the carrier tape which
is then sealed. The entire operation is controlled by
the internal electronics of the taping machine.
Options
Optional equipment is the same as that available for the Model
1050, including in-line laser markers, labelling equipment, vision
systems, etc.
