The 8000BL encloses a pair of tray stacking mechanisms
behind sliding, positively interlocked, covers. The operator
will open the doors to load the input stack. While the
doors are open, the motors in the system will not operate
because the open interlock opens the DC power circuitry
for the motors -- the motors are literally dead while
the doors are open.
Once the doors are closed, the motors turn on and the
system can operate. Loading a job is a simple matter
of choosing a device from a list of preset jobs, or easily
defining a new job with a new tray outline.
Changeover between device types is more or less complex
depending on how different the devices are from one lot
to another. The primary change over feature is the part
present sensor bar. Changing this bar is a matter of
four screws and one barrel-type electrical connector.
Alignment of this bar is not very critical so replacing
the bar can be done without any alignment guides or measurements.
