The stepper motor-driven
label apply arm reaches over the device and retrieves
a printed label directly from
the Zebra printer print head, picking it up by vacuum.
The arm then retracts to a position over the device and
places the label on the device. The stop pin retracts
and the part slides into a waiting output tube.
The Zebra printer is configured by means of an operator-supplied
computer running a simple DOS based program (allowing
the use of inexpensive, older model computers if desired).
The L3 itself has a standard Exatron terminal interface
for operator set up and diagnostic routines.
