Description
The eXpert tester is the latest
in a long line of Exatron Logic Testers. eXpert combines for
the first time: high pin count conventional vector test with
Exatron's signature analysis test. For the first time: fast test
with an accurate AC/DC test. For the first time: program and
test with just one insertion. For the first time: built-in true
fault grading for both conventional test vectors and automatically
generated eXpert vectors.
The primary concern of all test programmers is "UPH," units
(tested) per hour. eXpert is fast, very fast. Test times of
under 500 milliseconds are typical for very complex devices,
to under 10 milliseconds for simple devices. eXpert uses state
of the art fast A/D and D/A SMD test circuitry. The internal
signal path for all 160 I/O pin drivers is under 4 inches.
Exatron's Particle Interconnect (P.I.) socket technology allows
the number of connections from the tester's pin drivers to
the DUT, even in a handler environment, to be as few as just
2 connections, counting the DUT itself. This permits eXpert
to perform very accurate AC tests without the need for traditional "offsets".
Add a hardware based, not PC based, fast PLD/PROM programmer
and you have a test system that delivers REAL production.
eXpert is very compact, measuring 15" round and 11.5" deep.
Add a keyboard and a monitor and the tester is complete. No
additional computer is required. A Pentium PC is built into
eXpert. This internal PC is equipped with both a 3 1/2" floppy
drive and a hard disk drive. eXpert software is machine language
based and operates under DOS for maximum speed. Installation
of Windows NT/95 is not required, but can be installed for
network applications.
eXpert
is well suited for many applications. Digital logic tests from
the simplest of TTL small pin count logic, to high pin count
complex FPGA's can all be easily tested. The tester's small
size and fast test times makes it ideal for wafer probe/test.
On the manufacturing test floor, when direct docked to a
test handler, eXpert provides a zero footprint. In incoming
inspection applications, eXpert's "self learning" software
makes test set up nearly automatic.
Auto
Handler Contactor PCB
The Auto Handler Contactor PCB
connects the DUT to the eXpert. High performance Particle
Interconnect (P.I.) sockets for surface mount devices with
lead pitches as small as 0.4mm are offered. The Exatron socket
technology allows one test socket for both hand test and
automated test. This saves time and money. Conventional test
sockets, i.e. Yamaichi, Johnstech, Textool, Ney, and others,
are available as well.
Manual
Test Socket
The Manual Test Socket connects
the actual DUT to the DUT Adapter PCB. Particle
Interconnect test sockets, as well as conventional test
sockets, i.e. Yamaichi, Johnstech, Textool, Ney, and others
are available. The number of test sockets required depends
on your application.
Test & Mark
Applications
Using Exatron's proprietary
SmartMark technology, eXpert can operate either laser or
label marking machines to uniquely mark every device with
pass/fail, lot/date codes, quality ratings, etc. When used
with an Exatron marking machine, no additional PC is required. |
