The Model 400 Open/Short Tester is used to test for open and/or shorted lead bonds. The tester can also be used to measure leakage currents. The tester is designed with dual 625 pin ZIF test sockets: 1250 pins total, and versions are available for up to 4000 pins. With very fast test times, less than .5 seconds for 1000 pin device, the Model 400 is ideal for your Open/Short Testing needs.

Operation
The tester forces a voltage of 3.5 Volts per pin and also has a 100 Ohm current limit resistor per pin. The Model 400 can measures current to a resolution of +/- 100 uAmps. Failure reports are generated in MS Excel format. The tester is designed with automatic "Learn Sample Part" test program generation. Conventional test programming is allowed but not required. The 400 can also automatically find Power, Ground, and Open pins.

The Model 400 has a built-in PC (Windows 2000, or newer, Platform) with a color monitor, keyboard & mouse all included. The tester comes equipped with 4, 400 pin channel cards. With a built in modem, the Model 400 can be remotely controlled by Exatron engineers. This enables easy software updates and servicing without the need to send an Exatron field service representative.
